Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once), drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday HA!), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
These are the dark days. If you work full-time, it’s hard to find daylight & time for exercise. I was feeling pretty gloomy about it, but at the end of last week, I found another Big Empty (of people) Room and I’m going to start using it as my indoor track. And it’s just in time. We had a mini-ice-storm over the weekend so the sidewalks are sure to be a mess.
How do you fit exercise into your winter routine?
What are you going to do today?

Morning KB.
I’ve been doing a good bit of moving around here for the last couple of days. FMom’s asthma is acting up pretty bad, so I’m constantly running back and forth to get stuff for her and see how she feels. I think it’s the big shifts in the temperature we’re having down here that’s causing it. I’ll be glad when it gets cold and stay there.
Hope everyone has a good day and week.
Well, it is the only holiday party I plan to attend, so guess it wasn’t too outrageous….
Hey, I just saw http://www.newsweek.com/id/74075 (did I screw up the link ?) and found it really interesting.
Couldn’t get into the site for about 90 minutes….
The shortest day is just around the corner, kb. Hang in there - before you know it, the days will get a widdle bit longer every day. Good for you to find a place to walk! And don’t forget - Santa is coming!
Hi kb. During past winters I’ve used my stationary bike. I’ve got to get back on it. My new ipod will help.
I’m fortunate that we have a workout room at the office, with several treadmills, exerbikes, some torture device having to do with “step aerobics,” and the usual collection of weight machines. If I decide it’s too cold to walk outside, I can grab a treadmill.
The Evil Exerbike went back to its owner’s place. I’m thinking about getting a treadmill.
We have a treadmill, but I don’t like where it is in the house. If I could move it, I am pretty sure I would use it more. So far, however, I haven’t figured out how to move it, or where to move it to. Or is that just another excuse for not using it ?
Yeah, might be an excuse. Or you just might not have the physical strength to move it yourself. Perhaps you could make the space around it more conducive — if you like to watch TV while on the treadmill, move the TV instead of the treadmill.
Our power was out all morning and didn’t get turned on until just as I was leaving for work at 11am.
The predicted Ice Storm wasn’t anywhere near as bad as predicted (the temperatures rose above freezing as the worst of the rain fell.) But something knocked out a local transformer and my neighborhood lost it.
So it was a crazy morning and a crazy day. And I just realized that I didn’t have a chance to post anything all day.
Somehow, in spite of everything, I walked 2 miles and took my fiber supplement twice. I didn’t try to weigh myself in the pitch-dark bathroom this morning though.
