Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once), drink 2 liters of water (I’ve drunk about 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday 1.25), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
It’s Monday and who knows what’s ahead — trying to cram a week-of-work into 2 days (while still getting my walking done) for one thing. And enjoying the comments at Nancy’s place.
What are you going to do today?

Hope y’all are doing well.
I promise to start walking today…1.75 miles minimum. I promise to only eat three helpings of turkey on Thanksgiving Day instead of four. (I’m the cook. I DO have to taste-test things.) I promise to move that pile of woodchips by 12/1. I promise to write more, eat more fruit, and sleep better. Why wait for New Year’s Day, when you can start re-inventing yourself today?
“Party on, Garth.”
Anyone seem my evil doppelganger twin lately?
Rick: look up. Here’s my evil twin.
Huh? Oh. Yeah. J4T. Water. Go buy some more fiber supplement then take some. Walk if things don’t get too crazy — looks like a good day for it (the walk, not the crazy). Get a little writing done, besides the day-job writing.
You feeling better this week, KB?
One more week of Diet Hell - traveling, holidays, visiting family. Starting next Monday I’m back on track. Feeling like a squishy slug - way too many yummy meals this past week (no, I’m not complaining). Wishing everyone luck getting their work done in a short week, and passing up thirds of turkey and pumpkin pie!
uh oh, evil twins on the loose! I wonder if mine has to watch her weight. No, I suspect she doesn’t, and that’s why she’s evil, haha. She eats anything she wants to!
Hi, kib. Good luck with the Getting Things Done. And thanks.
The best way to get back on track is to re-affirm your resolutions to an outside party. Like the one I met waiting for the elevator awhile ago. I see her from time to time in the building, no idea what her name is– this is a big building with LOTS of people who work here and/or are in and out all the time.
I don’t know that I’ve EVER spoken with this woman before in the almost 9 years I’ve worked in this building. “So?” she asks me, “You’re looking skinny. Are you working out ?”
I proceed to tell her a bit of my story, and the fact that I am resolved to never again weigh more than I do today.
If you tell enough people, I think, they will hold you to it. Or at least you will be afraid they will. A little “healthy shame” is a lot better than a super-sized casket ! At least that’s my point of view. Just for today.
That’s like my posting my word count on my blog - if I know someone else is watching, I’m more likely to stick to what I said I would do.
I got home with a nasty sore throat and feeling rotten - I’m hoping I can kick it in the next 24 hours - boo!!
I don’t think that the world is ready for me to have a twin, one of me is more than enough. Just ask my wife.
Beth– Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. Hope it’s better soon. Being sick for Thanksgiving makes it a lot harder to feel thankful. Or do much of anything else. Been there, unfortunately, a few times…
boran– not sure how many of you might be enough, but guess some of us around here are sort of strong personalities, aren’t we ?
Thanks, catdog - I’m really hoping to kick it today, because I’m supposed to spend Thanksgiving with the Fetched clan! Doggone germs. Hope you have a wonderful one.
