October 10, 2007 — Just 4 Today

10 10 2007

Just 4 Today I'llJust 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (about 1/2), walk 5 miles (yesterday — 5.48), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.

More about Maintenance

For a long time, I’d start to type this out and I’d have to JUMP up and take that fiber supplement just so I wouldn’t lie. I mean, I did that every morning for a year. But, I’ve noticed that for the last month or so, I’ve been taking it as I make coffee & breakfast. So when I sit down to post — I’m already on track.

A year seems like a long time to build a habit. But, we’re in the business of re-shaping our lives. So, if it takes that long to make something stick, then that’s just part of the process.   And that goes for changing goals (FROM the desire/need to lose weight TO maintaining the weight you like) too.

What are you going to do today?

Good morning KB.

J4T I’ll drink two liters of water and try to get the lawn done. Hopefully the cold weather will start getting here, and I’ll be able to stop worrying about the lawn. Hah, as if I worry about it now. :)
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi FamilyMan — Good Morning!

We’ve had some of that weird October heat, but our lawn hasn’t noticed. I don’t think we’ll have to mow until it’s time to vacuum the leaves (and move them to a pile in the backyard.)

I hope you have a wonderful/restful day.

That’s very funny. I guess this blog has made an honest woman out of you, lol. (Not that you weren’t already!)

Mow the lawn? That’s the only good thing I’ve found in this drought. We mow about once a month.

J4T I’ll drink my water, take my fiber, walk (wearing good shoes for it today), and rearrange a manual about backup batteries. I got the other one (a test station) beaten into shape yesterday & sent it around this morning.

Mrs. Fetched kept me up last night talking about how she and Daughter Dearest are going to work together to lose weight. She’s had some success with WW in the past, but the money runs out, the meetings go on w/o her, and you know the rest. Maybe I can get them to join the fun here at E4T… well, I can at least point them to the “about” page and give them some encouragement.

I was just sharing the details of E4T with a co-worker. I’d love it if Mrs Fetched and/or Daughter Dearest joined us.

I think part of it’s power is that it’s flexible. We’ve got people using it to support all sorts of goals. If Mrs Fetched goes back to WW, she’d have catdog here to support her.

And we can add links to anything that seems useful. Actually, I should review the links — it’s been too long since I’ve updated them. (Suggestions Very welcome!)

Didn’t your daughter make a comment on one of your posts a month ago or so? She seemed pretty witty. And wit is always appreciated.

kansas — the blog has definitely made a MORE honest woman out of me. Not that I don’t still try to fool myself now and then. …

One habit I’ve maintained is writing down everything I eat. Been doing that for over 16 months now.

I think I need to get more strict with myself about logging WW points, though. Some things are kind of hard to figure, so it’s a guess as to how many points worth of roast chicken are in a salad I didn’t prepare, for instance. Or how much of the dressing on the side one actually used, a fork bit at a time.

I am still measuring out food at home carefully, but I’m not really logging the points, so I think I’d best get back to that before the fall/winter doldrums hit me any harder.

I need to stick firmly to the 18 daily points, and not overdo it on guessing the 35 weekly ones, lest I find myself with a problem….

For some reason the past couple of days the alarm didn’t go off even though it was set. Or maybe I slept through it ? Guess I really don’t want to be up until the sun comes up !

These lovely fall days I wish I could be outside more– I’m watching a red-tailed hawk swooping and floating, the noisy green parrots in the trees below, and other birds out the office windows, and wishing I could fly off someplace myself.

Guess that has to wait a couple of weeks until my next scheduled trip out of town….

Catdog, I found a couple of electronic point calculators when I was clearing space for our daughter. Would you like me to send them to you?

I’m in a struggle now to remember to post routine meals. I eat the same thing day after day — but I still think I should post it.

I got my walk in, anyway… came in too late to start lunch, so I hiked up to the highway and got some sushi at the Kroger. About a mile & a half, round trip.

Y’know, I’ve meant to ask DD if that was her post….

Hi all. The rain precluded walking and I probably didn’t have quite enough water.

But I’ll be getting plenty of exercise shredding the many colorful leaves that now dot our lawn. If it’s not one thing, it’s another…

Just came by to say hi and congratulations on your photography show katieb! Maybe you’ll let me post one at the b … always looking for guest posts … :)
Think I was out the door before your post was up today, and a long day that was one of those days that you can’t wait to forget.

I remember that post by DD too FAR … lol

FAR, that sounds like quite a walk for lunch. Are there sidewalks?

Wow, Boran2 — your leaves have turned already? Ours aren’t even close. Usually we do our leaf clean up on Thanksgiving weekend.

Hi Olivia, I’m sorry we missed each other. I’ve been sleeping in a bit this week (trying to avoid getting as over tired as I was a week or two ago) and I don’t always get into your place in the morning the way I’d like. I WILL in the morning though. I promise!

It would be fun to share a photo with you. But, I have to learn to do that stuff with statistics first.
