October 2, 2007 — Just 4 Today

2 10 2007

Just 4 Today I'llJust 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (about 1/2), walk 5 miles (yesterday — 5.01), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.

Last night I didn’t make my lunch. I sort of thought I’d just go out to Subway for something or maybe not eat lunch. Which isn’t QUITE as stupid an idea as it sounds. Only nearly. I’ve been trying to fit blood tests into my schedule & if I skipped lunch I could do it today. Still, it wouldn’t work. I’d be CRAZY by 2 p.m.  Still, it’s a CRAZY and dangerous idea.  For me.

With things as crazy as they are at our house, I think it would really be a mistake to discard routines that work.  In fact it would be a mistake for me to discard any routine that I control (since I control so little.)

Anyway, I didn’t.  As I was making breakfast, I decided that it would be pretty easy to make lunch to.  So I did.  Now I’m set.  I just have to call to cancel that appointment with the doctor. :)

What are you going to do today?

Fasting til 2pm?? That IS insane!! I barely can make it to an 8am appointment. I have to sleep late and walk around the house very slowly, drive very slowly, and not let crazy drivers irritate me. And bring food to eat in the car as soon as the tests are done.

Hopefully you can figure a way to get them done earlier in the day, kb!

Oh, and good morning!

You demonstrated the benefits of establishing a really good strong habit.

Morning, KB & Beth!

Good Morning, Beth & kansas! It’s great to see you.

Beth, I think I’m going to have to skip this one. Things are just too frantic — both at work and home. I’m always crazy after having blood drawn and this isn’t a good time to have a crazy katiebird floating around anywhere.

kansas — I don’t know that I demonstrated anything really useful — it seems like the theme this morning was crazy. Not a good sign.

“Crazy” is a relative term…I think it shows sane reasoning, and a recognition of what’s possible and what’s - crazy. :-)
It’ll happen, kb - now is kind of a bad time to be off your regular schedule.

Morning, kansas!

Good morning KB, Beth and kansas.

KB I don’t know if I could make it until 2:00 pm without at least some coffee. I could probably get by on lunch since I hardly eat at lunchtime anyway. I hope things start settling down some for you. Maybe once everyone gets moved in and you all get into a routine things will level out. I know whenever I get thrown off my schedule it take me forever to get back to normal.

J4T I’ll drink 2 liters of water and maybe, just maybe, I’ll do some lawn work.

Hope everyone’s day goes well.

Gonna be an either/or day here. Either it will be one notch above boring, or it will be frantic. It all depends on whether one developer decides to lob a last-minute grenade.

Good morning, Kb-

Just stopped in to say hello. I’m writing today, but plan to get in a workout. I hope your schedule gets less hectic!

Take care,
Kimber

Hay, KB. If I didn’t have routines, I’d get nothing accomplished. And I mean nothing.

I did walk today and did drink my water, By routine, of course. ;-)

Hooray, I got the “one notch above boring” day!

I’ve drank my water for the day, but I’m kind of thirsty now so I’ll go get some more. I got a walk in, finished two three things I wanted to get done today, and made a start on the fourth (putting apples on the dehydrator). I can only do about 6-7 apples at a time, and I have close to a bushel. Looks like I’ll take a couple fresh ones to work with me.

Hi Everyone, I peaked in during the day and your encouragement gave me a huge boost. Then the nurse not only wouldn’t let me out of my Monday appointment, she also talked me into going in for the blood tests after work (it seems I didn’t need to fast for this round)

So, that’s all behind me. And now I’m awake again after my post dinner walk & nap.

Beth, your theme song played through my mind all day (shaking head.) And I’m the same as you. When I have to fast — I do exactly the same as you describe. Except that I have to go home to bed the rest of the day too.

FamilyMan - I didn’t do it. And your support and experience means everything to me this week. Oh — things might not be as dire as I thought. Mister says The Girl is planning to go to New York for a month. And wants to move to Chicago after that. So, maybe we’re just storing her things for a while?

FARfetched! I’m so glad about the “one notch above boring” day! That’s great. So now you’ve got 6-7 dried apples? That sounds like a nice treat.

AND

Boran — I guess routines have become important to me too. I certainly wasn’t raised with any — my childhood home was a mad-house. But, the have become important to me through my Just 4 Today experiences. But, it’s pretty new to me.

I’m glad you got the tests over and done with, kb. One less thing on your list. And it sounds like life may not be SO chaotic after all…yay! And the weekend is one day closer…
