Just 4 Today, I’ll drink my fiber twice (done once!), drink 2 liters of water (so far, 1/2 liter), walk 5 miles (yesterday — 5.89), NOT eat between meals & NOT take seconds.
Yesterday I was in a meeting training session ALL day. But I think I’ll have a lunch break today (I’m skipping the Pizza Lunch.) Is anyone interested in a Virtual Eat4Today lunch walk? I’ll bring my camera!
What are you going to do today?

Katiebird,
I managed 38 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and no sugar. My goal for the day is to stretch and tone for 15 minutes and again no sugar. And I would love to see photos from your virtual walk.
Kimber
Good morning! Still some residual ick, but feeling much better than earlier in the week. J4T I will drink at least 2 liters of water (it’s very cold today, we have a new water cooler at work), not do any snacking between meals and drag myself to the gym.
Have a great day, everyone!
Quick observation…
Are the medical community’s weight requirements too high?
I’m sure you all have read the studies linking overweight with hypoglycemia and diabetes.
I’m posting now to report the fact that according to medical charts, a healthy weight for my height could be anywhere from 125 to 160 pounds.
However, I have noticed that my hypoglycemia was completely out of control even at 140, which is supposedly “healthy.” But now that I have maintained at below 130 for a number of weeks (around 127) my hypoglycemia is completely gone. The longer I maintain, the less it affects me. I have even been “testing” it by eating extremely sugary (but low calorie) foods every single day. I’ve had several very unhealthy days (think all Starbucks and fat free ice cream)… and there is not one whit of hypoglycemia.
So in other words, being 127 controls the hypoglycemia - not trying to eat healthily.
Just thought I’d share this.
Man E, be well!
Good afternoon all. The b2boy and I walked to the synagogue today, does that count?
Re: walking to synagogue– I’m sure that counts. And being centered spiritually/emotionally is very important to good health in general.
Happy holidays !
Hi, Boran2 — what catdog said — I agree.
What was I thinking last night? Why did I only respond to one comment?
Kimberly, I think 38 minutes on a treadmill is awesome — I canNOT keep my balance on those things. I’ve even been thrown off. Just like on TV.
Also, I did take a couple of photos on my walk yesterday. But, I think it’ll be tomorrow before I can post them.
Hi Manny,
I totally sympathize with residual ick — I think I had that last week. Take care of yourself.
I hope you have fun at the gym, but didn’t over-tire yourself!
Bombshell — The luck of the tall! “according to medical charts, a healthy weight for my height could be anywhere from 125 to 160 pounds.”
For my height, it’s “111-147″ depending on body frame and I suspect that I fall into the 111-124, small frame category. And ALSO that for purposes of controlling my diabetes, the lower end of that range will probably be my goal.
I noticed (earlier in the summer when I was mainly focused on calories and not SWEET control) that I could have a BURST of sweets now and then — and even A LOT now and then without it affecting my Blood Sugars.
But, when I started thinking I could have a sweet-treat every day — whoops those Blood Sugars shot up.
And a lot depended on the contents of the food. I can’t eat ANYTHING with high fructose corn syrup. If I do, my blood sugars shoot up (above 200) and stay there. Even with medication.
I know, you have a different sort of blood sugar problem than me. So, your rules will be different.
But, I’m betting that it’s still going to mean keeping things in balance. And not having those ALL SWEET TREATs ALL DAY sort of days too often.
For one thing, it’s a waste of good calories.
